According to Hindu philosophy, a person’s life goes through four stages — the student life, the household life, the retired life, and the renounced life. This blog is about the retired life, or the third book of my life and that of my wife.
When our kids were in high-school, getting ready to go away to college, it dawned on us that we wanted more from life. We decided that instead of continuing to maintain the empty nest, perhaps we should start doing things one waits until retirement to do.
We started to add some features of the retired life to our still active lifestyle, to create an ideal blend that worked for us – lean more toward life than work on the work-life scale, refocus on health, and focus on things we enjoy.
This blog journals our journey through that transition, the lessons learned along the way, and how we are enjoying our new life.
