These days, home is “up north” along the Minnesota-Wisconsin border where my parents have lakefront property. Since our family is currently scattered around the country, we cherish our time at the lake even more.
Mornings are a race between my dad and me to the kitchen. He will whip up his famous Belgian-style yeast waffles while I make coffee, chai, and scones.

Summer afternoons are full of sunshine and swimming. (As opposed to winter when the lake is frozen solid.)
Evenings are perfect for watching sunsets, catching fish, and listening to loon calls. (Have you ever heard a loon call? Listen here.)
After dark, we either sit outside around a bonfire or inside around a Scrabble board. Either way, it’s heated, lol.
Feeling grateful for our family time ❤︎❤︎❤︎

Hi Tammi,
Are you and Manohar back in Australia?
It would be hard to leave lake life – your photos make it look very appealing!
Hope September has started well for you!
Sending very best wishes,
Nikki
